Inside the de-election campaign” –Globe and Mail, Sat. Nov20/10 - Roseth's Blog: "De-election. Now we have a new word in our Canadian vocabulary. I think Recall would have done just fine.
What is it about the west coast? There seems to be an endemic miasma affecting the electorate; or at least the more vocal elite. It seems to have originated in California, and then migrated northwards along the Pacific coastline.
Do we really need this American-Republican style of politics, where instead of waiting until the next election to turf an MLA, we go after a sitting member because we did not like her voting for the HST –regardless of her personal conviction that it was the thing to do? Seems like a vicious vendetta to me.
I hope the BC public have the fortitude and sense of fairness to reject the rejecters; or they could find themselves on the slippery slope to political anarchy. And good luck to Ida Chong."
