While I in no way condone queue-jumping by unqualified foreigners, I do think that if there should be exceptions, this case must be one. Not for the mother, but for the young child who was born here and does not know the country to where she will have to go with her deported mother. Surely, in eight years the immigration service would have had ample opportunity to return the mother to South Korea, before her daughter started school here. To do it now is just cruel.
I commend the Star for keeping this issue in the public eye.
